Padre Pio’s spirituality is totally in line with the spirituality of Fatima: the offering of one’s life, the Eucharist and the recitation of the rosary. Therefore it was obvious that, next to the Adult Prayer Groups, he ask his first collaborators for the establishment of children’s Nests of Prayer
«My benediction goes to all the children in the world because, united in the Nests of prayer, they may form Our Lady’s Armata Bianca ”»
The Nests of Prayer are made up of groups of children who get together to pray, and together form the Armata Bianca, the army of little children guided by the Queen of Heaven in order to conquer the whole world to Jesus
Naturally, the first nest of prayer is the family, in which the mother and father must nourish their children, not only with material food, but also with spiritual food, by transmitting the faith to them, especially with their example
«You know the commitments of your association: to consecrate yourselves to God the Father and Mary, by devotion to the recitation of the Rosary: (…) Be faithful to the encounter with Jesus in the Eucharist»(John Paul II to the children of the White Army – 1989).
In many Catholic schools the day begins with the prayer of the rosary. Getting children used to reciting the holy rosary means placing them in the school of Mary, the teacher of the Master; we shouldn’t be afraid to take away time from lessons: those fifteen minutes help to put order in the minds and hearts of children
Today, how do children respond to Our Lady who, as with the three young shepherds of Fatima, asks them to recite the Rosary and consecrate themselves to Her? Here is what many children in Italy and in the world have written to us.
